Together with company TachoEASY and the University of Applied Sciences, the waste management authority of the city of Wiener Neustadt is currently working on an electronic fleet management system, which is close to completion. The goal is to equip each and any vehicle with a route guidance program to visualize and optimize routes.
"The waste management authority of the city of Wiener Neustadt is currently equipped with a fleet of 20 garbage trucks and fully occupied with slightly more than 200 different routes. Given the complexity and the constant growth of our association such a system is required. In the future the driver and his team can communicate in real-time with the dispatcher by the means of a cell-phone or a tablet. It can easily be verified, if garbage bins have already been emptied, or are scheduled for emptying. Damaged, or non-provided garbage bins can be registered and a complaint management system can be established."

A very special feature of the system is the fact that each and any waste bin will be tracked by its location (or address) and shown in the route guidance system. This system allows drivers with no local knowledge in the future, to find hidden waste bags or garbage bins or localities, a very helpful feature – especially on routes with 600 to 900 pick-up locations.
The system is currently used in the city of Wiener Neustadt. By the end of the year all vehicles in the district of Wiener Neustadt will be equipped with the new technology.
